Introducing Cheragh Medical University: Expanding FEDAA’s Commitment to Healthcare Leaders

October 2026

FEDAA is proud to announce a new partnership with Cheragh University, a respected medical school in Kabul.

Founded in 2018, Cheragh University has established itself as a center of academic rigor and professional training, focused on preparing the next generation of Afghan healthcare professionals. With a growing student body of approximately 1,500 students, the university is distinguished by its emphasis on practical, clinically grounded instruction, and its commitment to addressing the country’s urgent need for trained medical practitioners.

Cheragh University’s Faculty of Medicine offers a comprehensive seven-year MD program, combining foundational scientific education with hands-on clinical experience in affiliated hospitals and healthcare centers. Its curriculum is designed to meet international standards while remaining responsive to Afghanistan’s local healthcare challenges. Cheragh has invested in modern laboratories, skilled faculty, and partnerships that ensure students graduate with both the knowledge and practical skills required to serve their communities effectively.

This partnership represents an important expansion of FEDAA’s scholarship program. Through this collaboration, FEDAA will support talented, underprivileged students who aspire to become doctors.

FEDAA will begin by offering two full 7-year scholarships for Cheragh University’s medical program with the intention of growing this initiative over time.

By partnering with institutions like Cheragh University, FEDAA continues to build a pathway from education to meaningful service. Together with our donors, we are helping to train the doctors who will care for Afghanistan’s future.
